Privacy Policy — Namazia (اوقات نماز)

Namazia is a prayer times application for Afghanistan, published by Kabul Signal. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

Short version

Namazia does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Everything you set in the app stays on your device.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, and have no ability to collect, any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information
Your device location
Your device identifiers, advertising ID, or IP address for tracking purposes
Your contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera
Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioural data

Namazia has no user accounts and no sign-in. We have no server that stores information about you.

Information stored on your device

The following is saved locally on your device only, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

The city you select from the app's list
Your calculation method and madhab preference
Which prayers you have enabled the azan for, and your reminder timing
Vibration and dark mode preferences
Your tasbih counter total
A local cache of prayer times for the coming week, so the app works without an internet connection

Uninstalling the app removes all of this data. You can also clear it at any time through your device settings, under Apps → Namazia → Storage → Clear data.

Network requests

To calculate prayer times, the app requests them from the Al Adhan prayer times service at api.aladhan.com. Each request contains only:

The latitude and longitude of the city you selected from the app's fixed list
The date
Your chosen calculation method and madhab

These requests contain no identifier of you or your device. The coordinates are those of a city, not of your actual position — the app never reads your device location. Requests are sent over HTTPS.

Al Adhan operates independently of us and has its own privacy practices, available at aladhan.com/privacy-policy.

Results are cached on your device so that the app continues to work offline and to keep network use to a minimum.

Permissions the app requests, and why

Permission	Why it is needed
Internet	To fetch prayer times for the city you chose
Notifications	To show the azan and reminder notifications
Exact alarms	To call the azan at the precise prayer time. An inexact alarm would sound at the wrong moment
Foreground service	To play the azan recitation and show a notification with a stop button
Vibration	For the optional vibration at azan time, and the tasbih counter feedback
Run at startup	To restore your prayer alarms after the device restarts, so the azan keeps working
Ignore battery optimisation (optional)	Only if you grant it. Some devices stop background alarms and the azan would not sound on time

The app does not request location permission.

Children

Namazia contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no user-generated content, and no communication features. It collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will be revised.
